Moog 901B - another question ...

2011-02-19 by Quazimodo

Thanks for all the relies to my earlier question - I should have seen that... however I do have couple of other things confusing me on this schematic - where it says "selected for 2.45v at TPA..." - are those refering to Q8 and Q9...? And would TPA be the "A" on the base of Q7.

Also, Q7 says "selected" but with no explanation! What is it selected for (or matched with?)

Finally, what diode could be used for D2 CL-1 ... could that be a IN34?

Cheers,
TOM

Lowrey Organ Synthesizer

2011-02-21 by Samuel Adams

Hi,

Does anyone on the list service or know about Lowrey organs? I have a rare
three manual GX-361 / G-7000 that needs some repairs. The lower two
keyboards and pedals work fine. The upper keyboard, which is a solo section
doesn't work properly. Just about all the solo voices have a fuzzy / buzzy
sound to them and don't play in tune -- random pitches, not following the
keyboard notes.

To keep this on topic, said solo section sounds are polyphonic analog
synthesis generated (i.e. no samples)

Thanks

Yes, the solo keyboard was a Kawai K1 as I recall. It has been some time since I
have seen or worked on one. Kawai bought the Lowrey Organ Company.

I think the the voices are ram based and battery backed up. Sorry been 10 years
since I worked on a K1 and 15 since working on a G-7000. That means that on
could dump any Kawai K1 voices into the 3rd manual. Look in the menu for a dump
que. The was card to reload too. All too far in my past!!!
