Yamaha and their manuals...

Yamaha and their manuals...

2010-10-11 by Quazimodo

Hi guys,

Would anyone know a source for (free) Yamaha service manuals or schematics please? I just called them and asked - but they say they don't keep them, which I find hard to believe.

I have had success in the past with other companies who are only too willing to dig one out and email it to you, but Yamaha seem not that helpful.

I'm looking for a schematic for a really old Yamaha Compressor - GC2020B

Cheers,
TOM

that's odd... I've always found them very helpful. a few years ago they supplied me with a service manual & schemos for my cs50; the document was dated december 1975, cost me £20 & took them two days to send to me. they've also supplied parts for my cs30 from stock. I wonder if they've changed their policy... this would be bad news....

Maybe I should ask you to call them for me Duncan...;c)
The chap I spoke to had to leave the phone and ask - but he came back with the answer that they don't keep service manuals! And this was the service department I spoke to.

I found the answer strange as well.
Cheers,
TOM

I suspect we are talking about the differences between the different countries support centres.

I called Yamaha UK about parts for a CS50, and although they couldn't supply any, they did have the service manual there as they were able to look up part numbers.

Don't know where to get the schematic, but here's where to get the owner's manual and many other Yamaha manuals (free pdf's):

Yamaha like most Japanese companies does not keep manuals and parts for instruments over 10 years old, even common parts like keys, once their stock runs out they don't replace it,they want you to buy a new instrument,I have a collection of most of their manuals,15 file cabinet drawers full.but I sell them.
direct link to my FEEbay store.

wait- it's coming back to me now- I bought replacement keys for my AN1X less than two years ago. I remember cutting my finger while installing them, right before a gig.
they asked me if I was a private person (no, really!) or a recording studio, & when I answered that I had a small studio (as most of us would, I suspect), they dropped the tax.
so this is a recent development, if indeed it is true.

Re: Kurzweil Midiboard V 3.0

2010-10-21 by Daniel Forró

Does somebody have Service Manual for this MIDI master keyboard V
3.0? I just bought one (Japanese production), cleaned it and
restored, everything is OK, I just like to have a Service Manual for
the future reference.

It's an unbelievable technology. miracle of engineering, and yet so
simple solution. I'd like to know more about that key switching
system, how it's done. There's only one contact and it can send
initial and release velocity plus polyphonic aftertouch.

Thanks in advance for any hint or info.

Kurzweil is known for great customer support ...
I´d ask here

Post also in the PC series synth forum,- Dave Weiser from Kurzweil is there always.
