Force Sensing Resistor for 88 key Fatar keybed

Force Sensing Resistor for 88 key Fatar keybed

2010-09-28 by jfmcgrathmusicnet

Does anyone know where to get force sensing resistors for 88 key Fatar keybeds? Fatar doesn't answer email and google hasn't yielded anything except 24 inch sensors for robotic projects, which wouldn't be long enough.

Thanks, Francis

Alesis may still have these. 401-658-5760 Peavey used these keybeds too but I know they are out of stock.

Hi Francis,

Can you get us a pic of another?

I repair keyboards here and I'm always wanting to know more . Plus we might be able to help

There is a good picture of the sensors at http://johnp.net/images/photos/lmk3+/keybed-left-end.jpg. There is one under the black keys and one under the white ones. I just need one of them.

Thanks, Francis

Peavey no longer has keyboard parts. Alesis can sell a full key bed, but that's over $400. They don't have just the pressure ribbon.

Anyone else have an idea?

Thanks, Francis

When I left Kurzweil 2 years ago I had 50 in stock. Most of these were still
there last year when I went back to determine what would go to AM&S.

Contact parts guy Michael Lowe at 887-526-5463. I do not know if they will sell
direct to an end user, but most likely they will on a credit card. The part is a
MONO PRESSURE STRIP, 88 key (or 76. or 61). And YES!, FATAR is a pain in the
arse to deal with.

Korg Polysix

2013-12-03 by Christian Schonberger

Hi all,
Well I recently dug out my old 1982 Korg Polysix. It is dead a long time ago. Sure enough the original (Varta) battery is still there and left some corrosion on the circuit board. Doesn't seem that much. I didn't want to remove it with a soldeing iron because there are important componments very close to it, so I just removed some of the traces of the corrosive liquid with household cleaning paper.
The problems started already some six (!) years after I purchased the stynth back in the day: key contact problems, failing switches and problems with pots (noisy and failing).
I am located in Lisbon, Portugal. Any idea if I can wake up this little gem from the dead again? Where can I get components and is there an expert near me?
Any reply much appreciated,
Christian

You may want to subscribe to

PolySix@yahoogroups.com

(which - as you might guess - is a dedicated Polysix users and repair group).

In general I tend to no longer bother with repairing the battery damage
(unless it's really minor) and instead install a "clone" KLM-376A board.
