Vintage Synth Repair

Hi, I have a couple OB-X voice cards on ebay -

I have an E4XT that won't send an AES signal so I took it apart and pulled the "DWAM" board out.

This particular one belonged to one of the developers a while back so there's a good chance this could be a prototype. 

"AP16485-02 REV A" is handwritten in permanent marker next to the "I/O BOARD PC10485-01"

There is a place marked L10 which is directly in line with the AES OUT signal pin from the motherboard and the output connector where there's nothing- 
so this may be at least part of the problem. 

The AES IN works fine on this unit, and I was able to trace all the way from the connector to the pin on the header going back to motherboard. 

Any thoughts on what value I could use for L10? 

This isn't what I wanted to b doing when it's time to record :)

is there an AES-type signal at where L10 ought to be, at least?
a component with "L" would usually be an inductor; can't think why there'd be an inductor in line with the AES output unless the actual signal is a bit ringy or there's some HF noise in the unit that e-mu felt need calming down a bit.

of course, you could just go analogue... :-)
