Minimoog PSU caps question ...

Minimoog PSU caps question ...

2009-10-30 by Quazimodo

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question about the PSU caps on my two Mini's.

I decided to recap the PSU's and looking at the schematics I bought two sets of: 2X 1000ufd/63v and a 470ufd/63v

I assumed that both PSU's would be the same... and I changed the caps in my later Mini successfully.

Today I decided to do the earlier Mini - and when I took the back off I noticed the rectifier board looked different, with only TWO caps.

Also their values were 470ufd. As I already had the 2X 1000ufd (and one 470ufd) I decided to replace the 470ufd with the 1000ufd capacitors.

My question is, is this too high a value?
Will I regret doing this later on, can it damage anything long-term?

Many thanks for any advice.

Cheers,
Tom

Tom

It shouldn't matter. The only criteria to matter is the working voltage.
Provided the working voltage is higher than the one installed you will be
OK.
