Sounds pretty extreme. Have you opened the case to see if there is a battery?
If there is, have you replaced it? Is the battery soldered to the main circuit board, or is it in a holder? Is the battery leaking? ; How is the battery leaking? cap? end? What does the discharge look like? White caked powder? Dark greenish goo? What is the battery model number?
Have you contacted anyone at Peavey or left a message on their website for technical assistance? ; Tried calling their tech department? Are they still in business? Have they been bought out by some other company over the
years?
How much are you willing to spend to fix this problem? Do you have any electronic equipment like a soldering iron? volt meter? oscilloscope? Could you replace a battery that been soldered to the main circuit board? Could you get the main circuit board out of the DPM3 chassis box and back in without damaging it or the mountings?
Whew! so many questions. At least a start to the development of an approach to a procedure according to a fixed plan under development.
Yes, it can be fixed. And the cost of fixing it might be more the difference between what you would get for selling it broken on eBay vs. selling it ready-to-use. I'm amazed that people will spend about %70 (plus shipping) for a broken synth. But this is a full-sized keyboard unit that is expensive to ship.
