I'm surprised at that, because this is really a pretty common part. Have a
look here:
http://digchip.com/datasheets/search.php?pn=4558&pn_placement=contains
and see what they list, some of the numbers (like the "1N4558") obviously
don't apply, or the ones with a "1" before the number, which refer to a
different part, but that still leaves a lot of numbers.

The site also has a cross-reference function, though you need to register to
get at it. I also probably have some of these parts, C1815 is a 2SC1815 and
I have 54 of them on hand. A1015 is a 2SA1015, and I have 11. I don't seem
to have any 2SA970 on hand at the moment, though, or 2SC2240.
