OT: Tel-Ray Organ Tone

2001-10-24 by lenny g

Hello,

sorry for the off topic post, but I have no one else to turn to. I
recently purchased a Syn-Cordion SuperNova II amp w/ Tel-Ray OrganTone
effect built in. The amp works perfectly, but the Tel-Ray died a few days
after I brought it home. As it turned out there was berely any oil left
inside the can due to a worn out (practically disintegrated) seal/gasket
type thing around the rotating shaft that penetrates the oil can. I'm
looking for any and all info on the Tel-Ray. I realize that my chances of
finding the right part are slim so I'm also looking for schematics of the
device to see if I can have a new seal custom manufactured. However if by
chance there is someone out there with a spare seal or someone that knows
where to buy one I'd really appeciate the advice and/or parts.

Please send replies to lennyg47@...

Thank you all in advance,

lenny g

Hey Lenny,
Did you have any luck with finding info about these old beasts? I
just got a Fender Dimension IV, repaired the drive belt and hooked it
up to my Fender DeVille's reverb tank. All I got was weird tremolo
style feedback when I turned up the reverb knob on the amp. I could
hear the effect, but it was feedbacking like mad.
Does anyone know why this would be happening? Could it be the newer
Fender Amp and Reverb can't handle it? One of the girls in one of my
bands has an old Fender amp and I'll probably try it out on that next.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Jim
