which DeoxIT for trim pots?

which DeoxIT for trim pots?

2005-09-13 by David

Hi Gang,
I bought a chromatic tuner for my 2600 so I can calibrate the VCO's. I
wanteed to clean them first so I called Caig Labs to find out the best
product to use. The technical rep recommends the D100 (100%) as
opposed to the D5 (5%) product line for old trim pots. She said the
solvent used in the 5% products could damage certain types of pots.
She said the only downside of the D100 is that I'd have to spend more
time excercising the pot for maximum benefit, and may have to remove
excess fluid (not an issue for the 5%).

OTOH, my brother has some of the D5 on hand, so if you guys say it's
safe, I'll just use that. Advice?
