Tone Module sale

2011-04-07 by Alan

Hello, I have a member here for about a year or so and occasionally answer questions. I have been playing with tone modules since 1987. For the past few years, I have been buying inexpensive modules on eBay especially if they are broken. Then I refurbish them and resell them on eBay. Since you can generally sell old items for the price that you paid for them, eBay has been in effect an inexpensive instrumental rental service and a way to try out all the old-school gear that I would have never been able to buy when it was new in the music stores.

Ebay has instituted a new policy of charging 9% of the sale price as a base fee and next week will start including THE SHIPPING CHARGE as part of the 9% fee. Plus they get a 3% fee from their internal funds transfer service PayPal. A few years ago they charged only about %5 total including the PayPal fee. As a result of this misguided greed, I will not be trading very much on eBay any more. I'm going to miss trading on eBay and I hope that they come to reexamine these ill-advised policies. They are trying to reposition themselves from being the World's Biggest Garage Sale to being just another sleezly struggling strip-mall outlet of overpriced bangles. It won't work, but it take them a lot time to realize their folly.

I've managed to get a collection of tone modules that I'd like to unload at low-end eBay average prices for each unit. I'm going to keep one good ROMpler (a Roland XV-2020) and a good Yamaha FM box (a TG77) and unload everything else. This group seems like a good place to make an initial offer for these pieces. I'd like to share the modules with people who would really enjoy them. All prices are firm but fair.

Here's a list: shipping USPS parcel ground inside USA

  Roland JV-880 $85 sh:$18 screen backlight dimming

BOSS DS-330 $70 sh: $10 different power adapter,

  EMu Mo'Phatt $90 sh: $15 encoder replaced,

EMu Proteus Two Orchestral $75 sh: $15 power supply refurbished (new electrolytic capacitors installed)

EMu Proteus Three World $65 sh: $15

Alesis S4 (with power adapter) $65 sh: $15 missing pixels on LCD screen

All units work fine and sound great. My paypal transfer address is alan_probandt@.... My eBay name is: alanpro and I have 381 transactions with 100% positive rating.

Please let me know if I can supply you with any of these modules.

Thank you,
