RE: [vintagesynthrepair] K30A-O same as K30ATM-O (to use for korg PS-3100 SG boards)?

Not knowing the devices you specify I cannot be certain but I suspect that
one device is n NPN transistor and the other is a PNP. They are NOT
interchangeable.

Subject: [vintagesynthrepair] K30A-O same as K30ATM-O (to use for korg
PS-3100 SG boards)?

hi list,

i have found all the needed parts for my tech to build the two SG boards
(KLM64) for my Korg PS3100.
apart from the sixty K30A-O transistors, which i will use the K30ATM-O in
place of the K30A-O, for the two SG boards.

are these two transistors basically the same?

i have found the datasheets for k30A-O and k30ATM-O.
they seem to have really the same specifications, apart from two parameters
that have to do with voltage:
the VGS for the K30A-O is (min to max) 0.4 to 5 volts, but for the K30ATM-O
is -0.4 to -5 volts (they have opposite signs)
the same is valid for the Vgds for the K30A-O is 50 volts, but for the
k30ATM-O is -50 volts.(again opposite signs)

but, i guess, that this is the same and has only to do with the measuring
conditions, right?
(i know almost nothing about electronic engineering, so i cannot really
understand many parts of the datasheets...)

any help?

many thanks in advance,
best regards, :-)
Bakis.
