Look up a datasheet for the SRAM chip, it should tell you the minimum voltage for memory retention.

Subject: [vintagesynthrepair] Roland M-64c battery

Hello - I just opened up my Roland M-64c memory/RAM cartridge to install a new battery, which I thought would be a CR1/3n 3V. However, the battery inside, which I assume is stock, is a CR1/3n 6V. I did find a 1/3n 6V online, but it is double the length. The 6V inside my M-64C is the same size as a normal 3V 1/3n so, I'm not sure what to do. Is 6V actually necessary for simply maintaining RAM memory? Sorry if this is a simple question and thanks! Damon
