Ok...well I've had fun with this..after fixing the
filters and going through the service manual tweaking
the tuning and various other parameters..got it all
perfect and sounding great, closed the lid, played it
for about 2 minuites and it then promptly died!

Basically I could tell from the fault IE no buttons
working plus no lead synth or bass etc that the micro
processor board had gone bad!

Man that has the worst nastiest connections to the
touch pad ever..thin brittle ribbon..very easy to
ruin.

Anyway after poking around with the logic probe, I
found a few data lines dead coming out of one of the
intel 8243 port expanders off of the 8048..so
hopefully a new one should fix it!

Where would I source a 8243? any ideas?

Phil.
