If only they would write on the box what these terms mean!! Anyway it is not a stupid question. mAH just means 'milliamps for an hour.' So if a battery was rated at 10 mAh you could draw 10 mA for an hour before the terminal voltage dropped below a usable level. The same battery will supply 1 mA for 10 hours or 0.5 mAmps for 20 hours. Does that help?
