Thanks to the wise counsel of Marvin Jones, the Oz is now fully functional. While it did need the new 4001 chip, the main problem was that I had it underpowered! I assumed the snap on battery holder was for the 9V battery that came with the unit when I bought it. But the literature states a 12V requirement! Duh! Radio Shack had a 8AA battery holder. I hooked that up with fresh batteries, and the Oz was happy again! In scrutinizing the board I did find a cold solder joint on a wire jumper at the terminal strip which was why no trigger signal was appearing at the Trig out. Point is, for all the amateurs like me out there, learn from my mistakes (I'd love to learn from yours too)...always check the simple stuff first! Use your eyes and ears before a scope and meter. Thanks, Marvin! stephen
