Vintage Synth Repair

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Technics WSA1 acoustic modeling synth. It has 
a rather large display, and around the edges, the display seems to 
be deteriorating. It almost appears as though some of the image has 
been scratched away.

Has anyone seen this before, and is this a sign that the display 
will eventually become unreadable? Also, does anyone know a source 
for replacement displays for this synth and how difficult this would 
be to replace. I'm not an electronic wiz like most of the 
contributors to this group, but I have managed to replace displays 
on some of my other synths.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
