I didn't even know about this group until Andrew told me about it.

Very nice. I take it you guys have looked thru all those old circuits
in the files section. And no doubt, somebody built some of them, and
found them to be lousy performers or otherwise rather useless for
electronic-music applications. The analog computer circuits that claim
to implement square, square root, exponential etc. functions tend to
be too inaccurate or flaky to use in a CV synthesizer. I found that
out 10-15 years ago--by actually building and testing a lot of that stuff.
What little "prior art" in this area is very limited, and you keep
seeing the same designs cited over and over.

The Judd book is your best bet, and even it is rather limited.

Hi Eric,

I've been to busy (or is that lazy) to bother. I did build a white noise
generator out of a thyratron though. One of these days I'll get around to
using some more of the huge number of tubes I went out of my way to collect!

Hey Ken!

You ought to build a tube drum machine. Now that's something NOBODY
has tried, since the Wurlitzer Sideman. Judd's book just happens to
have a bunch of usable circuits. Only hard part is the programmer.
Wish I knew someone who is good at hacking PIC or Arduino code
together...if I did, I'd have a tube drum machine as a regular product.

A drum machine, now that's an idea.
You should talk to Thorsten, he's the pic guru.
The code for a drummachine is already there;
http://ucapps.de/midibox_808.html
If he's not interested in commercial use perhaps www.electricdruid.net
can help you.

Thanks! I'll ask them.

PS--I'm posting this Yahoo group to Deviant Synth.
Hopefully you will get some new members.
