8 outputs installation information

8 outputs installation information

2007-11-21 by plus_321

Hello,
I received an 8 outputs kit today, but I am missing the
instructions and ribbon cable to connect the two boards. Aside from
directly soldering them, does anyone have a source for a ribbon cable
or know of a replacement? Also, does anyone have the instructions for
the installation that they could upload to the files section? I am
going to call Wine Country, but I just thought I would check here first.

Thanks,
Chase

I found a ribbon cable. It is only a 16 pin ribbon cable with a dip
connector at the end. I bought one from a person selling Apple parts
(these were used on Apple IIs), but if you aren't in a hurry and you
need one, then it would be cheaper to find (or make) a 16 pin ribbon
cable of desired length and then buy the dip ends which are readily
available (and cheap).

However, I still need a copy of the instructions that came with the
upgrade.

I have the jack board and the op-amp board and can clearly see how
they connect via the ribbon cable, but I am at a loss on how to mount
these boards inside the machine. Also, the op-amp board has several
(4,5,4) wires that looked like they need to be soldered on the voice
board somewhere.

How did you get on with Wine Country? I'm assuming they sold
you the kit; I'd be surprised if they can't help you out.

Cheers,

I tried calling them all day and eventually just gave up and left a message. I bought the piece from another member of the board and it was already in his machine when he bought it so he didn't have the install instructions.

Hopefully Wine Country will be nice and not charge me too much for a copy of the instructions. I was just hoping that someone could upload them here so I can do this sooner and it would be good information for the group to have.

Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.

Fair enough.

Mine has the multiple outputs installed, I could try and
take some photos of the mounting etc. if you're really stuck.

Yes, that would be great. I am really at a loss of how the boards mount in there and Wine Country even said that I was on my own on the mounting.

They (Wine Country) wrote me back and they are willing to sell me the install instructions for $7 plus $8 for shipping but only hard copy. If someone has these install instructions, I will pay you $10 (via paypal) for good quality scans of them. I'm really trying to get this done soon.

Thanks,
Chase
