I don't think the Keyboard Mode is a solution because I still hear voices dropping out where they shouldn't in the 8-voice modes and some of the layered 4-voice modes. But your suggestion does offer me a good workaround for now by working with just one Map in one of the 4-voice modes. It limits my polyphony, but at least I get a sound every time I hit a key now.
