Trying to help a friend to repair his P6

Trying to help a friend to repair his P6

2004-02-29 by gil_we

A friend has got a non-working P6,
which we're trying to fix.

It had the battery leaking, damaging all the area near it.

We replaced almost every part at the battery area,
and now it works partially. Most sections function OK,
except for the VCO section which doesn't reaspond to any knob change.
Additionally the sound is alway distorted.

Considerging when we got it it didn't play at all and non of the
presets worked, this is an improvement.

Should we look at the audio board as well in that case ? How do I
reset the rom chip ?

Thanks for any advice.
