Removing the knobs?

Removing the knobs?

2004-02-06 by zendenker

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to whip my polysix into pristine shape. The last thing I
need to do is get rid of the scratchiness of the volume pot. Minor
problem, I know... but I'm a perfectionist. Anyway, I've read that
the easiest way to do this is to remove the knob and shoot a bit of
contact cleaner into the hole.

Question-- Is removing the knob as simple as just yanking it up
really hard? I've applied a small amount of pressure, but it
doesn't seem to be giving... so I figured I'd ask before I use
actual force. If anything, I need reassurance that this is the
right way to do it (seems like the only way).

Thanks for your help.

Just open the case and locate the volume pot on the left side,
than spray some contact fluid into the pot.

The pot is bare and easy to get to.
