Polysix key Problem

Polysix key Problem

2017-05-15 by joppemadsen@gmail.com

Hi all.

I'm new to the group. I have been a member og the Korg Mono/Poly goup for some years now, and I have very much appreciated the knowledge found there.

I seem to have a problem with my Polysix's keys.

I have installed the Kiwisix and the keyboard works perfectly over midi (a bit noisy with bad pots). All six voices are functioning.

Some of my keys are not responding. It is the same keys in each octave, so I guess it's a faulty IC on the key assigner board KLM 366? I have cleaned the keyboard contacts with alcohol, and that helped a little. But the dead keys remain completely dead.

Since all voices work with midi, does that then indicate that the key assigner is working as well?

Can I buy a keybed that fits the polysix somewhere? Is there a standard fit? Could I try with a Mono/Poly keybed?

Should I try to replace some digital IC's?

Thanks for all your help and your time.

Regards

Jeppe Madsen

The signals that read the keys are arranged in groups of 8, not 12.
If one of those connections is lost, or an IC pin is damaged, then
you would expect to lose either a group of 8 consecutive keys,
or every 8th key. Not the same keys in each octave.
