Discussion about the Korg PolySix synthesizer

Can i use the kento pro solo to sync the arp on the polysix? If so,
how? I see how to hook up the cv and modulate the filter based on the
built in lfo, but im not sure how to sync the arp or if its even possible?

I don't know anything about the kenton, or the arp, but the PolySix sync input works great for triggering the arppregiator.. oh.. that's what you mean by Arp.. not the brand.. hahah.. yeah, it works great.

I use the Trigger (rim shot I think) Out on my Roland 707 to the Trigger in, and it works the charm.

I would certainly try that first. Hopefully you won't run into problems with rising/falling or -5 pulse v. +5 pulse or antyhing.

a 4/4 pattern works fine, but you can get some interesting things by progamming patches that have interesting attack and decays. like an attack that's a little slow.. so if you have trigger pulses that are close together you'll get a different sound than when you have a full 1/4 beat *(or more) between them... If I can find some, I'll upload some "songs" that I did with only the 707 and it controlling the P6 while I fiddled with the knobs on the P6... will post URL here later.. maybe this weekend..

documentation there or email them (they're very helpful)

I have a rather nifty Kenton "Pro2000" which multiple CV-gate
& auxilliary outputs, so it can do half a dozen synths at once
.....
I'm not quite sure what features the ProSolo has....

To clock the arpeggiator, you either need to tell the Kenton
to either send an -ve pulse (ie "S-trig") clock signal in time
with
MIDI clock stream,
*or* manually get the Kenton to send out a stream of S-trig gates
in response to MIDI notes that you feed it. (Doing it this way,
you can program special timing patterns, rather than just a
straight clock train)

To sweep the filter, you need to send a control voltage
between -5V and +5V.

I guess what im saying is the solo has one cv out and one aux, im
already using both to play the thing. Now if I want to run the arp do
I need another solo or what?

Well, the Polysix has input sockets for TWO signals
(arpeggio clock, and filter cut-off voltage)

You need to send it two signals to control both of these.
