KLM-367a clone calibration issues

KLM-367a clone calibration issues

2014-01-28 by <lighterthanairflight@gmail.com>

Hello,  I just recently completed a KLM-367a clone and after installing the board I am having some difficulties calibrating it.   I am following the calibration instructions, and have repeated the steps over and over again.

here are the issues I am experiencing.

1.  when I adjust VR1.  I can get all of the program lights to light up,  but when I remove the 56K resistor from the test jig on the KLM376 board Bank D and Program 4 light up instead of Bank A and Program 1.   this problem continues on.   so even after I adjust VR6 and VR7 once I turn the synth off and back on in steps 7 and 8  the lights that light up initially are bank D and program 4.
I can select program 1 and bank A however.

I have not taken to calibration further than this,  but the synth does make sound.   the MG is on always.  no matter the position of switches/pots   oddly I cant even see the MG on CN03-05 for calibration step 3.

anyway... I have looked over the clone board to look for mistakes,  but it looks good. any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!

Have you done the mod on Jed's site, a res to take care of as well as a cap to replace if necessary?

I did fix the PCB errors.   and I have now installed the two 10uf caps for the crystal oscillator,  with no difference.

I actually made two klm367 clone boards and both of them have this problem.
