Polysix oscillator problem

Polysix oscillator problem

2013-01-02 by revstate

It is not known if it is an oscillator problem or one of the SSM chips with it on the voice board. It was fine for a long while with only a minor volume decrease on that osc. section. Then the volume dropped maybe 50%, and on some patches it actually changes the timbre of the sound when it hits that osc. I was wondering if anyone could send me in the right direction for self repair. ^_^

Thanks,

You could quickly find out if your problem is the SSM2044 filter chip by swapping the one on the bad channel with another voice and see if the problem moves to the other voice. The voice that is playing can be seen on the gate lights on the voice board.
