KLM 367 Clone Problems...

KLM 367 Clone Problems...

2011-04-06 by Mike

Well, I guess I goofed and something is wrong with my clone board. Unfortunately, my PSU had a lead break from opening and closing the synth so I can't test any further until I fix the PSU and order the fuses. Can I sub a 2n3904 for the Q5 2SC945? I dropped in another 367 board that I had lying around and everything worked as it should with the exception of a couple buttons because somebody spilled a drink on it years ago.

Here's my question, is there anybody in the USA that would be interested in fixing my KLM-367 clone board if I mailed it to them? It's probably something stupid but I don't have the time or the parts available to really test it. The last time I powered it up, I couldn't get any of the preset buttons to work. It seems that they were stuck on 1A. The chord memory was stuck too.

Hi Mike,

A couple of points here. If this is the original transistor from the
original KLM-367 then the base and collector pins are in a different
position. So this will cause problems if you thread it straight through the
print as intended for the 2N3904! I am not in the US, but may be able to
help you. Drop me a private message if you like. The chord memory is
controlled by the MCU on the KLM-366, so beware of the fault persisting when
you fix the KLM-367.

Cheers,
Andy

Well,my PolySix has been on the back burner for a while now.. I fixed the PSU issue and it looks like it messed up somehting on my KLM-367 board. So, my KLM-367 board is even worse now and I haven't done anything to it since my last post.

Is there anyone in the states that would be interested in taking a look at my KLM-367 board?

Hi Mike,

I can take a look at your board if you want to mail it to me. I have a
couple of boards to compare it to and most of the parts for another one.

Thanks again Don. I'm going to drop it off in the mail today. Please let me know how much this whole ordeal is going to cost and I will promptly send you a PayPal payment.
