POLY 6 SUPERBRIGHT LEDS

POLY 6 SUPERBRIGHT LEDS

2009-03-28 by nmr2@rocketmail.com

hi all....

i just started to replace some of the LEDs in my quirky p6 and thought i would show some pics

see here:

http://picasaweb.google.com/natere2ster/PolysixKLM367BoardRepair#

They are called "super bright" for a reason and I will probalby have to adjust the current limiting resistors to dim them or just use some different ones...they are TOO BRIGHT!

I am considering replacing all LEDS on the unit with the blue green one you can see at the speed knob of the arp section...

cheers

nate

Ouch, my eyes, see how they burn! If you have the specification for the new
LEDs you wish to use (the ones originally fitted are 470R, which equals
11mA) then we might be able to advise. However, they may consume no more
than the ones you took out. Things have moved on a lot since only gallium
arsenide was available to make them out of (and they were all dull red)! I
believe there is a picture somewhere on the forum where someone already has
switched to all blue LEDs. Might be worth finding out who they are and
having a word with them.

Cheers,

Andy
