Polysix vs. Prophet 08

Polysix vs. Prophet 08

Hello,

has anyone compared a Polysix vs. the new DSI Prophet 08?
Is the P 08 worth, selling my Polysix?

Any comments?

Regards
   Matthias

Hi Matthias,

I don't really think you are comparing like for like here! It is like
saying "I have a 1982 Golf GTI, should I sell it and buy a 2008 Focus
ST"? Yes, they are both performance cars, but a world apart in the
technology used to design and manufacture them. The Prophet 08 might be
a wonderful instrument, but you might prefer the nostalgia element of
owning the P6. It is all a matter of personal preference. You will
certainly find the P08 much more reliable!

My advice is go seek out a P08, play it and spend some time getting a
good feel for its advantages and limitations. Is it worth the trade...

...only you can decide!

Cheers,
Andy

I own both.... you cant compare them...po8 is all modern with sequencer, lots of memory, complex sounds, polysix is simple, basic , good sounding sounds..... I say use both... set po8 for sequence or arrpeg. and play lead and funny sounds over it with the P6.
