Dead Polysix

2002-04-30 by PlexusMiasma@aol.com

Hello everyone, I'm new to the list. My name is James and I have a small
inquiry. A Polysix I recently purchased has suffered the battery meltdown
fate and for the last two weeks I've been unable to locate someone that can
do the board repair. So far I've e-mailed Scott Rider, Kevin Lightner, Synth
Services, and Kurt of Kurts Amps and Keyboards. Zip, zilch, nada except for
Kevin e-mailing me back since I only inquired with him about locating a
replacement board. I also contacted Ranger Audio in Canada about finding a
replacement and they turned up nothing. If anybody on this list can help me
in finding someone to repair board KLM-367 I would be forever grateful. I
would do the repair myself but my eyesight is horrid and the board traces are
tiny. Thanks in advance.............................James

Crow here,

I've been up to my eyeballs in Polysix repairs lately. I'll email you
off-list.

I had the same problem - corroded board, bad eyesight- and I hit on the
solution of taking the board to an electronics repair shop, the sort of
place that fixes radios and vcrs. I pulled the board and bought the parts
myself and printed out the documentation from old crow's site. They did a
great job and were happy to have something different to work on. with parts
it cost less $100.
