Circuitwriter pen to repair traces?

One more quick question. Has anyone tried using the circuitwriter pen http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104395 to repair damaged traces? Thanks guys. -Scott

Seriously.. the only effective way to deal with the acid-damaged traces in a Polysix is to eradicate them.? Anything else is just asking for trouble.? Think of it as excising a cancer... you need to get it all out to be safe. drfuzz

I have used one for other repairs...my complaint about the pen is that the ink line can be fat and blobby compared to a fine trace , and wire can be very thin and neater. The ink is hard to control and the scale of the polysix traces is pretty small.

Also, don't overlook the damaged thru-holes, which cannot be repaired by a circuit pen. I use a similar thing when soldering is not possible, e.g. on flex-PCBs or the like. I agree with one poster who says that it can be difficult to "draw" the fine traces you often find. But I certainly prefer soldering a real wire from point to point. Johannes scottboardway wrote:
