Finding a battery in the uk

Finding a battery in the uk

2001-11-23 by John Edwards

Hi all,

Im looking to buy a replaceent battery for the polysix
in the uk. I have found some on Maplins, but am not
sure which is best. Can anyone recommend the easiest
desolder, drop in and resolder battery because my
PCB/soldering skills were never that great in the
first place when I ws at school, let alone 10years on!

Are either of these ideal for the poly6?

Other recommendations (uk based) would be well
received!)

Cheers

John.

I'd go with the old crow's advice (well, I did go with his advice) and
replace the battery with a battery clip/holder and a simple Li-Ion
battery. This works out for a couple reasons.. You don't have to
worry about it leaking again in 10 years, although you might have to
replace it again, you can just plop the new one in place. The second
good thing is that you don't have to solder the new battery.

I don't know about sources though, since I'm in america.
