On the KLM-367, if the battery is fully charged and you see voltage on
the memory chip when the power is off (at least +2.5V from pin 18 of IC32
to pin 9 of IC32), then it is possible the memory IC itself got ruined by
corrosion creeping up one or more IC pins. Also, check IC25 to make sure
all traces are in good shape--this IC is also powered by the battery when
the unit power is off. Check for battery voltage on pins 14 to 7 or IC25.

With the power on, carefully check IC32, pins 18 to 9 for +4.5V or
better (should not be over +5.0V), as well as +4.5V or better at IC25
pins 14 to 7.

These simple tests will help narrow the cause.

A couple of things to check, Thanos -

Has the old battery corroded and possibly damaged the circuit board or
tracks? Do check this out as it is a common problem.

Also, check the battery is full charged, and applies the correct voltage (3V
or so) across the memory IC power lines when power is removed from the
Polysix. I changed my battery with a Powercell as recommended on Old Crows
webpage (definately worth looking at).
