I got SOUND

I got SOUND

2005-10-13 by lnz2166

Thanks to all who gave suggestions on my recently purchased Polysix
blue light special. Here is what I've done so far:

1. Power Supply was blown. Changed the lytics, diodes, and
regulators. Little did I know until today that the surge of energy
that blasted the diodes and regulators blasted a solder pad on the
+15v trace feeding the power supply connectors and was the causing
the "No Sound" syndrome. It was interesting the the +15v Test Point
read 15v solid. Until I started measuring op amp supply voltages did
I notice that they were all screwed up.

2. Changed Battery, and 74LS08 and repaired traces. Programs seem to
store intermittantly. I'll need to further investigate.

3. Changed lytics on 366 board. Planing on doing the rest.
Interesting enough, all the old lytics were in good shape and with in
tolerance.

Keep you guys posted.

P.S. I was able to find crosses to all of the regulators and
transistors. Email me if you need the crosses.

Key Rubbers

Does anyone know where I can get polysix key rubbers from?
Cheers

try this place:

http://oaktreeent.com/Korg_Keyboard_Parts_Units.htm

i've never ordered, but they claim to see "reconditioned" strips, as
well as a "key contact repair kit."

to the best of my knowledge, the polysix and poly61 share the same key
contact strips. (i own both, and they visually look the same, but i
haven't done any experiments, or anything.)

good luck!
