no sound on polysix

no sound on polysix

2005-07-16 by czmok

Hi all,

i just bought my first Korg Polysix from the first owner. Unfortunately
(well he wrotes in his Ebay Page) the Korg does not make any voices,
just keeps silent.

What i already did:

- checked the battery -> no signs of cossosion or broken wires
- loaded various sounds via the tape-in (the factory sounds)
-> the polysix reacted and loaded the settings from "tape".
-> function of every key is working, it just don't produce
   any sounds..

the owner told me:
- it lost voice after voice.

any idea on what i can test/ do next ?

Mine does a similar thing, and the voices I load into it do not sound like
they should. I already replaced the battery and that didn't fix the
problem. I've been going on 3 months now without this thing.

--- I just bought one also and I have the same problem. I found out
that my power supply -15v and -5v were shot. I'm still trying to
figure out why but check those voltage via the test point on the
power supply board to see if you are having the same porblem. let me
know. I just posted this problem so hopefully I will get a response.
