Replaced my battery, don't think it fixed the problem

I'm still having an issue with my poly. I replaced the battery,
removed the cap, and replaced the diode like in old crow's
directions. I did not replace the IC chip, becuase 1, it looked fine,
2, i don't know where to find one of that type, and 3, the traces
looked ok also.
It's basically doing the same thing it was doing before. The ground
wire though, at the top of the lid, is loose and when i put it in test
mode it seemed to make that modulation thing when i moved the groud
wire. I wonder by looking at it if the trace was lifted up. Either
way though, where I stand right now is where I started. How can I get
this ic chip? And if it's not that, anyone have any more suggestions?
