Discussion about the Korg PolySix synthesizer

Is there any way using the 2045 to replace a 2044 ?
Are they similar by any way ?

From a quick view of the data sheets:
They are kind of similar in that they contain both the VCF. But the 2045
is 18pin / the 2044 is 16pin. The 2045 contains additionally two VCAs
and a signal mixer. Furthermore it seems that the 2045 has 2pole input/
output which gives nice different configurations, similar to an MS-20.

Wasn't there a later version of the MS-20 which used an integrated
filter as opposed to the "discrete" filter used on early models?
The (discrete) filter of an MS-20 sounds absolutely stunning when
modified for 4-pole operation.

I looked at the data sheet.  It would require a daughtercard approach to 
use the filter as the chips are not pin compatible.  Other features (it is 
similar to a CEM3372) would be turned off, too.  Although, it has a final 
VCA on it that has got to have better (less) CV feedthrough specs than the 
Korg 1-Transistor Wonder.  It could probably be used to replace the 
SSM2044 and the VCA for each voice.  It just needs a small PC board.

  Regarding MS-20 filters, both the "Korg-35" (transistor SIP) and the
LM13600 (OTA) circuits are 2nd-order Sallen & Key models.
