Bad to hear that. I have exactly the same problem. The last I heard is, that maybe the memory chip is damaged. But I never investigated it really. So I still have this problem. I will try to change it soon, maybe thats the reason Sebastian -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: cyberiad2001 [mailto:ahassine@nettilinja.fi] Gesendet: Donnerstag, 14. My name is Ami Hassinen and I´ve been a happy polysix owner since 1989. I bought one second hand and have been using it ever since. I think it´s perhaps the most enjoyable polyphonic synth of its price range of the time...especially when you run it thru EQ and a bit of echo/delay. I have used it both in studio/recording work (my band is Nemesis - yeah, I know that it sounds like a veeeery unoriginal name now...wasn´t that bad in 1987...unluckily we decided to stick to it as it was printed on our album cover in 1994 etc...) and live set up...providing sterling service....until now!!! Curiously (stupidly :-) enough, I haven´t replaced the battery yet, but have checked it regularly to prevent the leakage. I will replace it soonish with the help of the excellent tips page on the net (I think the author is on the list?) as soon as I have bought the right components. But the battery is really the original item and I think I´ve really been pushing my luck having not changed it ...yet :-) The problems that I´ve had with it during the last week or two appear like this: Everything is OK and normal for about 5-10 mins after I switch the unit on. After that time the programmes seem to lose some of their written features: the envelope settings disappear and all the sounds have zero attack and release. There is also slight fluctuation of the output volume. The program button 4 is (and stays) lit all the time, no matter what other program buttons one pushes (the appropriate program changes to the one being pushed on, nevertheless). Also the bank D (error) button is lit occassionally. If I switch the unit off and it is allowed cool properly, after turning the unit on again everything is perfectly OK for 5-10 mins. and then the malfunctions appear again. I would be very grateful if someone could enlight me if this is because of the very old battery or should I look the fault elsewhere??? I have a recording session coming on soonish and would like to take trusty poly6 with me... cheers to all and thanks, Ami PolySix "Digiest" Page: http://www.acc.umu.se/~amber/Poly6 Yahoo!
