Re: [AH] Looking for Korg Polysix MIDI upgrade

2004-01-27 by Dave Garfield

Hi, Hans, and the rest o' you PS-6'ers!

I think I may have a solution, in an *affordable* MIDI interface from
Austria. It's pretty basic, but it's Very Affordable! Here's the
info:
=====================================================================
A Practical, Inexpensive MIDI Interface for the Polysix!...
From: "Alexander Guelfenburg" virtual-music@aon.at and
http://members.aon.at/virtual-music/e_products.htm  May 10, 2003

Features:
\uf0b7 MIDI IN
\uf0b7 Selectable MIDI channel (dip switch)
\uf0b7 Note-On and Note-Off capabilities
\uf0b7 A special algorithm for optimal MIDI performance (for our
techno fans..)
\uf0b7 Absolute simple installation, no soldering iron required

Since we decided to make the most cost-effective interface on the
market, we canceled the capabilities for any other MIDI controllers,
like Vol, aftertouch, program change... Our interface aims the market
for people who say, "I don\ufffdt want to spend more money for an interface
than the value of my Polysix.." These interfaces are rare on stock
these days, so I\ufffdll reserve one for you for the next 10 days.
If you have any questions, we are happy to answer them. We are looking
forward to receiving your answer.
Best regards,
Alexander Guelfenburg

=====================================================================
I haven't personally tried it - yet - as financial circumstances of
last year precluded such possibilities (Divorce... :-< ), but they seem
to be reputable, and you can't beat the price!

Anyway, just thought I'd pass along the information. I don't work for,
nor have any further knowledge about the company, but their website and
email are listed above, for your convience! ;->

If someone Has tried it, please post your opinions to the group. Thx!

   Yours in Polysix Mania 8^P,
   Dave Garfield -- LOVE them filterzzz!
