Yes, the files and photo’s are still available. I have a script running that’s archiving them (and retrying, and retrying…) as we speak actually. Just to be on the safe side. Interesting point that you bring up w/respect to the fee and multiple subgroups! That would be a great opportunity to get all the Vintage Korg groups together and migrate everything over. I’ll have to make sure that this can be indeed done with the one $110 fee. Can we get the word out to the other Korg groups? I’m not on any of them. I am already in touch with Florian from the MonoPoly list, but it would be great if any of the other group-owners could contact me off-list (just use yahoo@stuyts.nl <mailto:yahoo@stuyts.nl>). I will then try to coordinate our efforts. Small technical detail/gotcha: Please note that migration is ONLY possible if you are the actual list owner. Being a moderator is unfortunately not enough. This has to do with the fact that you have to add a new moderator (groups.io <http://groups.io/>) to your Y!G, and only group owners can do that. Unfortunately there are some (many?) Yahoo Groups where the owner is no longer active/involved. Thank you all for your ideas and suggestions! Ben > On 18 Oct 2019, at 17:28, 'Chromatest J. HOWEVER... you can do an unlimited number of subgroups into that main group. For example, You could do "analogkorg@groups.io <mailto:analogkorg@groups.io>" as the main group, pay the $110 and then transfer PolySix into a subgroup, "polysix@analogkorg.groups.io <mailto:polysix@analogkorg.groups.io>" and then MonoPoly into "monopoly@analogkorg.groups.io <mailto:monopoly@analogkorg.groups.io>", etc.... > > Of course, after the year, it falls back to 1G of storage which would have to be divided up between the various sub-groups. > > As far as requiring some information before approval, that is also possible withgroups.io <http://groups.io/>. It's just not as intuitive. You set your questions in your initial new-member pending message. When they reply to that message, the emails are attached to their address/account and then you can see that in "pending members". Approve those with answers. If they don't answer in two weeks, the pending member gets flushed. > > I really dislike Y!G. I can't reply to messages via PC. I have to actually send the message from the gmail app on my phone. As you might have heard, Yahoo is shutting down Yahoo Groups starting October 28. I have already made a new group over there: https://groups.io/g/polysix <https://groups.io/g/polysix>. There is a possibility to migrate most of the content and memberships automatically. If nobody objects I will start this process in the next few days. > > Kind regards, > Ben > > > > ------------------------------------ > Posted by: Ben Stuyts <yahoo@stuyts.nl <mailto:yahoo@stuyts.nl>> > ------------------------------------ > > > ------------------------------------ > > Yahoo Groups Links > > > > > >
