This is normal behaviour of the mod wheel on the Polysix that typically confuses new users. The LFO on the wheel is fixed to pitch control, in addition to the EG settings (in just increases intensity even further if EG is set to VCO already). The upside is that you can have the LFO affecting two destinations at once if you wish so.
