Ok I messed up... while trying to find out which one of my 6 SSM-2056 chips was not working ( every 6th note would not play) by switching chips around as directed in earlier posts on this site ,I inadvertantly placed one in backward, making the reverse contact in the Voice# 0 socket,,,, so I blow both 1 amp fuses...got them replaced and now I get blurry, quiet, less defined sounds in all patches. Changing patch # does change the tone, but the sounds are bad and indistinct.Totally NOT NORMAL. Better on 'unison', but still blank notes on 'poly' probably from the bad ssm-2056... yet all notes play on unison. the problem is the degraded tone quality...any ideas of what might have blown with one reversed ssm-2056 other than the fuses?
