I had this exact same dilemma last night - but careful examination will show you that only 4 of the pins on the old opto component is connected to anything. I got my new opto from http://www.rswww.com Look at part http://rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/rswww/searchBrowseAction.do?N=0&Ntk=I18NRSStockNumber&Ntt=2508981626&Nty=1&D=2508981626&callingPage=/order/OrderHistoryView.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@0781451492.1161086007@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccladdjdljgfkfcefeceefdffhdffo.0&cacheID=uknetscape&Nr=avl:uk (RS Stock no. 2508981626, check out the Data Sheet document) You'll see the new opto has a corner cut out to indicate where "pin 1" is. The old opto has a wee dot at the upper left to indicate its "pin1" Korg's surviving PS6 schematics go horribly fuzzy at this point, but if you shine a light through the board you'll see which pin trace leads to R93 (pin 2, the +ve end of the LED), whilst pin1 goes to ground. --- In PolySix@yahoogroups.com, "bildfantomen" <monke@...> wrote: > > Please explain to me how the Opto thingamajig is supposed to be > connected, all it says in the Files section is what resistor to > change.
