No. A number of people have attributed many PolySix malfuctions to a bad battery; the ONLY thing the battery does (besides leak all over the board & cause untold damage) is to maintain power to the RAM chip when the synth is turned off. The RAM will still work, if the battery is dead or missing; you can save programs from the front panel or from the tape interface & recall them at will -- as long as you don't turn off the synth. It's been my experience that when people think they've corrected all the circuit board problems caused by a battery leak, they're ususally wrong -- keep in mind this is a digitally controlled machine, and that data and address lines are running all over the CPU & front panel boards. If ANY of these lines are shorted, broken or otherwise screwed with by a leaking battery, the synth will malfunction -- sometimes in surprising ways. (let me also add that visual inspection is not enough to determine that battery damage has been repaired; there are many traces running under ICs that can be etched away without being visible). ~G At 09:12 AM 1/3/2006, you wrote: >I just found out that the New battery that was installed is a slightly >lower voltage, a 2032 lithium > >It should be 3.2 Volts?
