Just want to apologise for the comment below, I had had a few beers when I sent it, and I allowed my personal antipathy to the music of Erik Satie to get the better of me. Mark --- On Sun, 19/9/10, Mark Pring <markpringnz@yahoo.com> wrote:

So does that mean you liked the album covers too, or does your apology for drunken grouchiness apply only to Satie? I'm really, really sure that you're not the first guy on the list that has made beer fueled comments on this list. In fact I'm positive. I've been guilty in the past and Rick Blechta does it all the time. In a message dated 9/18/2010 7:52:54 P.M. The album covers weren't bad, sorry I was rude, I think I might still have been sober at that point as well. --- In newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com, lsf5275@... wrote:

That's perfectly okay. However, I fail to see how anyone can fail to be entranced by Satie, and even more puzzled why anyone can be antipathetic to it. I find it perhaps the most mesmerising music I have ever heard. Mike

I agree, Mike. Also, Satie's music is perfect for the atmosphere of the mellotron flute (McDonald or MK2, maybe even bass flute). -Bruce D. --- On Sun, 9/19/10, Mike Dickson <mike.dickson@gmail.com> wrote:

Satie tends to polarise. I love it but know many who find it tedious and ponderous. They are wrong in my book and Mike knows I share his fascination. Musical mnimalism can be a hard pill to swallow but Satie makes it easy....for me. Arvo Part also hits the spot but not Philip Glass or Arthur Pottle. Especially Pottle, the nicotine swilling, Vodka smoking, utterly confused twat. Alphonse Leclerc Paris Today Streetly Electronics - All Things Mellotronic www.mellotronics.co.uk NEW for iPad!
