New Digital Mellotron will be called the M4000-D. What?

New Digital Mellotron will be called the M4000-D. What?

So the new digital Mellotron will be called the M4000-D. Seems like Markus
could have found a better name.

Interesting that it will also emulate the touch sensitivity of a mellotron. If I'm not mistaken, it will have some of the 'articulations' that Fritz and Chris talked about earlier.

Agreed. They should pick another number for Christ's sake!

I agree on the model number issue. Seems like a bit of a risk.
A useful addition for stage play would be a programmable "favorite voices" selector, with possibly 12 or more memorized A/B combos. The present design looks like it requires one to spin the voice selectors thru up to 50 stops each way, until the required voice is found (for both A & B voices).
This digital 'tron looks like a great addition for the stage, but only if it sits on top of a real one!

It does look to be a very impressive digital machine.
And I would definitely trust a product by either Streetly or Markus because they both put so much passion and care into what they do. They're not to make a quick buck selling cheap crap.
Yeah, I agree about the name. This could cause confusion for newbies which could be an indirect hindrance to both Markus and Streetly simply because the name is so close.
Although If they were one company, the name would be easy and make sense
- the M4000 is the original analogue tape version, and the M4000-D is the digital version.
Two different markets.

We wish Markus no ill whatsoever but do look forward to all the
misdirected searches from Google! It beggars belief that he would choose such a name
as it will cause market confusion just when he is trying to launch a
product. I look forward to Ford and GM launching a saloon and sports car
respectively with the same fucking name!

Remember those "misdirected" searches work ~both~ ways!
Maybe that's his plan.....

Well that's no good. They obviously did it to PISS YOU OFF! Now that you are not, they look rather silly.

A tit for tat thing...

Streetly M4000 mellotron

M4ooo-D Mellotron

Sheesh,

To me, it is like saying that the MKVI and MKVII models are obsolete and doomed to irrelevance.

MKXXXIX - D100 Mellotron/Chamberlin/Optagon, is a much more logical choice; why didn't they think of this??
