Welcome to the group, Dan. There are lots of people here who can assist you in getting your newly acquired #854 running nicely.

Cheers,

Thank you. I'll need all the help I can get, I'm sure. I'll have a better understanding of the extent of my insanity by Sunday afternoon. I'm looking forward to the venture with excitement and trepidation. However, just knowing you guys are here gives me hope and comfort. Unfortunately, those 2 things will probably pale in relation to the 3rd essential component to Mellotron ownership:

Money.

Oh well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, right?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure we'll all get to know each other quite well in the ensuing months.

Dan,

Excitement and Trepidation? Most of us refer to them as John and
Martinge, although I can see why you'd feel inclined to call them
this. Don't forget Markus in Sweden, he of the Calm Demeanor.

Hope and Comfort sound interesting. Are they strippers you met
somewhere along the way? Will you introduce them to the rest of us,
especially Jon?

A word of warning: don't mention the following things:

* the opening of "Watcher of the Skies"
* comparisons of Mellotrons to Chamberlins to Birotrons
* Martinge's horrible fashion faux pas
* Jon Anderson's lyrics
* The Moodie Blues, friends or foes?

Clay will send you a video of the secret handshake. It lasts 8 seconds
and then you have to whip your hand back.

Welcome.

Rick

PS Most of the above is completely untrue -- except the "Watcher of
the Skies" part.

PPS And Martin's horrible fashion sense.

PPPS And Mike Dixon really doesn't mean it...usually...

One topic many of us enjoy is when Mike Dickson discuses his love and
admiration for the Mellotron stylings of the master... Mike Pinder.

Welcome aboard
