Pinchrollers
2009-05-07 by tronbros@aol.com
Dear All, Very shortly we will have new pinchroller assemblies available featuring stainless steel springs and precision ground pinchrollers. Each pinchroller will have the unique Streetly 45 degree edge chamfer to prevent the drive surface becoming concave with age and concentrating the pressure to help with difficult tape stock such as Ampex and Basf/Emtec. The rubber is bonded to a Nylon 66 hub which rotates on a precision aluminium shaft to create an excellent low friction bearing. Call me for further details. The warning signs of worn out pinchrollers: Tram lines along your tapes approx. 1/16" in from the edge Wobbliness when you rock the key Slow adjustment from stall. A good roller should come up to speed in 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Hard glass like surface Heavy keyboard!!!
