Too much tension on the belt can do this. Oiling the motor also causes it to attract dust. Dust works its way into the bushings and actually increases friction. these things both cause increased amperage draw and can blow the fuses. Try loosening up the belt a bit. It should only have enough tension to turn the flywheel such that when you grab the revolving flywheel, the belt begins to slip on the motor pulley after only a bit of resistance. Hope this helps.
