Hi Jack,

Your C3 looks absolutely beautiful ! I am "psyched" for you too ! Any chance your friend will sell to you the matching bench he picked up at the flea market ?

Please keep us all posted...

While it is getting it's check up and you are waiting for your Leslie, check out Larry Young, one of many jazz organists that I admire.

Congratulations,

Robert

Unfortunately it'll be a few days before the tech goes through it and the Leslie arrives. I wanna hear this thing so badly. I thought you guys might like to see the beast hanging from the studio hoist. Always a fun sight.Cheers!

home at the studio and rev it up again.

Nice! Good for you, Juack. My A-100 (free was also very clean and had the
bag of screws in the same place. It came with a Leslie 22. Better than no
Leslie. I have everything I need to convert it to a 122 except time.

Thanks to whom ever posted Larry Young. I was unaware of him and have already
purchased two CD's from Amazon.

And boy does that C3 look clean! Run a Mellotron through the aux in on slow
speed when its set up. It's like playing Black Sabbath at 78....you might see
God

Larry Young on Hendrix "Nine to the Universe" Album

2011-07-11 by Robert

Hi Pete,

I believe so. See the links below, the 3rd being an interview with John Mclaughlin in the September 1975 issue of Guitar Player magazine. Unfortunately, I have never heard that Hendrix album.

Around 1973, I started to collect a lot of jazz / fusion / Canterbury albums by British groups like Soft Machine and Hatfield and the North. A little later on, I became interested in groups like the Mahavishnu Orchestra and stuff like that. My friend's dad had the Tony Williams Lifetime album "Turn It Over" (Larry Young, Jack Bruce, & John Mclaughlin is credited) so we gave it a listen. Strangely enough, on some of the tracks I noticed a similarity to the British fusion sound I had already become familiar with.

A few years later, as I was getting into more "straight ahead jazz", I picked up some of Larry Young's earlier albums on the Blue Note label.

      Robert,

Is that the same Larry Young that played on Hendrix' Nine To The Universe?

Robert,
Thanks for the link.I remember hearing that John Mclaughlin said as long
as he was alive the session/jam with Jimi would not be released.

Looks like there is a Leslie 122 next to it. If I didn't have three organs already I would grab it and just pay the packing and shipping via Craters and Freighters or Keyboard Carriage...
