Well, my wife is under strict orders to sell everything except for my 1955 B3... where my ashes will be located inside...

Definitely... especially since it was Pinder's... But knowing Frank, I am sure he told her.

And Frank was not ever interested in selling it. Believe me, I offered to buy it several times. He had a love for that instrument.

[Mellotronists] Re: Frank Samagaio has passed away.

2011-04-06 by Ken

Very sad to hear this. Frank was a friend and a great source of information for anything tron related. He helped me out a couple of months ago when I needed to do some routine maintenance on my MKII. He sent step by step instructions and pictures. One of a handful of people I know that could help out with a MKII. Now there's one less.

Many fond memories of the Pindertron unveil at Jerry's in 2004. I caught all of the MKII jamming on audio, will have to listen to it again today. Frank's slogging through "Peak Hour" was a highlight.

I didn't even know he was ill. He will be missed.

If his wife doesn't keep it, then it should go to either a good home, a museum, or back to Mike Pinder if he wants it.

It should certainly not go to anyone like Rebecca Black or anyone associated with that kind of dreck. That would be a real insult and a horrible waste.

If it winds up in a professional studio all best are off. (shrugs)

I'd expect that this one, in excellent condition, with its provenance
and musical history should command top dollar.
